Welcome to www.post-trial-litigation.com, the official website of Andrew
G. Wiggin, P.C.

Andrew Wiggin is dedicated to serving his client's litigation needs that
arise after conviction in Virginia's state courts.

This website is designed to describe the array of post-trial litigation
services practiced by Andrew G. Wiggin.  Descriptions of the types of
legal services are worded to provide a basic understanding for those who
are not yet trained in the law and those who are.

Many clients have sought post-trial legal services from attorney Wiggin
because they had come to be dissatisfied with the attorney who handled
their trial.  Some clients simply learn that their previous attorney does not
handle the type of post-trial matter which they need done.  In any event,
Andrew Wiggin attempts to establish and maintain as helpful of a
relationship as possible with prior counsel.  Most attorneys understand
that post-trial success is just another way to "win" for the former client,
even when it involves pointing out mistakes made by that prior attorney.

Most post-trial litigation takes longer than the felony trial process.  Often
there are long time periods during which we can only wait for the
appropriate court to make the next decision.  On our end of litigation,
some matters require lengthy research and preparation.  For example,
habeas corpus cases generally require the most time for preparation of
the initial petition.  Filing deadlines of statutes or court Rules are always
complied with.  As much as possible, complex initial filings are decided on,
prepared and filed to satisfy the timing requests of the client.  However,
careful quality always takes priority over mere speed.

By way of analogy, if a person feels unusual pain in their body, they will
seek a skilled physician to assess and treat their problem.  Often times,
the patient
and the doctor cannot identify the precise problems until close
and careful evaluation has been done.  The same type of process to
identify legal issues often occurs in these post-trial matters.  Andrew
Wiggin endeavors to identify and explain to clients (and interested family
members) what issues will best be pursued in the chosen post-trial
litigation.

The way to begin is to first read the information on the applicable page of
this website.  Then, contact Andrew Wiggin and discuss the post-trial
situation.  As noted on this website's "Contact Firm" page, Andrew
Wiggin does
not charge a consultation fee for an initial telephone
discussion to determine if this firm's services are appropriate for the
particular case.
